An unusual wind direction sucks water off the lake in the lee of
Mount John

The majority of fill occurred in 48 hours of rain the the alps.
More Nor-West winds produce rain in the alps.

High rain fall along the Main Divide sees Lake Tekapo reaching a
maximum level not seen for a long time. Future rain will probably
result in the 'spilling' of any excess water down the Tekapo River
and entire Waitaki Valley.
